“In writing this book, one truth kept coming back to me: sometimes, the fight takes a while,” Harris said. “But I remain full of hope, and I remain clear-eyed”
Former Vice President Kamala Harris is getting candid about her 2024 presidential campaign in a new memoir.
On July 21, 2024, former President Joe Biden withdrew his reelection bid and endorsed Harris as the 2024 Democratic presidential candidate. Just over a year after she entered the race, Harris announced her memoir, titled 107 Days — the span of time in which she sought the highest office in the country.
In a video announcing her upcoming memoir, Harris recalled the “intense, high-stakes and deeply personal” 107 days of her campaign.
“Just over a year ago, I launched my campaign for President of the United States. 107 days traveling the country, fighting for our future — the shortest presidential campaign in modern history,” she said.

“Since leaving office, I’ve spent a lot of time reflecting on those days and with candor and reflection, I’ve written a behind-the-scenes account of that journey,” Harris continued. “I believe there’s value in sharing what I saw, what I learned, and what it will take to move forward.”
107 Days is written as a “page-turning novel,” a press release from publisher Simon & Schuster read. S&S CEO Jonathan Karp said Harris’s memoir encapsulates the drama and gravity of a crucial moment in American history, all through the former vice president’s eyes.
“It’s one of the best works of political nonfiction Simon & Schuster has ever published,” Karp stated. “It’s an eyewitness contribution to history and an extraordinary story.”
The announcement of her memoir comes just one day after Harris revealed she would not seek a gubernatorial bid in California in 2026 — thus leaving the door open for another possible presidential campaign in 2028.
“In writing this book, one truth kept coming back to me: sometimes, the fight takes a while,” Harris said. “But I remain full of hope, and I remain clear-eyed.”
107 Days is set to hit shelves on Sept. 23 and is available for preorder now, wherever books are sold.
