In a surprising twist during the 2024 election season, Kansas City Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce has thrown his support behind presidential candidate Kamala Harris, shortly after pop icon Taylor Swift publicly endorsed her. Kelce, known for his athletic prowess on the football field, surprised fans and political pundits alike by stepping into the political arena with a statement of support.
Speaking at a recent charity event, Kelce shared his thoughts on Swift’s endorsement of Harris, stating, “Taylor made the right choice, and I’m with her on this. “Kamala Harris has the experience and leadership qualities we need in a president right now.” His endorsement echoed similar sentiments expressed by Swift, who has been a vocal advocate for progressive causes in recent years.
Kelce’s influence, like Swift’s, extends beyond the football field. With a massive social media following and a loyal fan base, his backing could help sway young voters, many of whom follow both Kelce and Swift closely. Their combined influence could have a significant impact as the election draws closer
Swift’s endorsement came as part of her continued advocacy for voting rights and political engagement, encouraging her fans to research candidates and vote in the upcoming election. Kelce’s support adds weight to the growing number of public figures rallying behind Harris, marking a unique crossover of pop culture and politics.
This isn’t the first time Kelce has voiced his opinions on social issues. Over the years, he’s been involved in various charitable efforts and has spoken out on topics such as racial justice and equality. However, this endorsement marks his most direct involvement in a presidential election, showing a deeper commitment to political discourse
With both Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce now backing Harris, their combined star power could generate further attention and possibly shift the dynamics of the race, particularly among younger demographics who engage with their music and sports careers.
As the 2024 election season heats up, it remains to be seen whether more public figures will follow suit and publicly endorse candidates. For now, Harris seems to be gaining momentum with two major cultural icons standing firmly in her corner.
TRAVIS Kelce is reportedly set to follow in Taylor Swift’s footsteps and make his own election announcement.
Pop sensation Taylor announced on Tuesday, following the debate between Democratic Presidential candidate Kamala Harris and Republican candidate Donald Trump, that she was endorsing Vice President Harris.

Taylor shared a lengthy Instagram post explaining her decision following the debate, calling on fans “to do your research on the issues at hand and the stances these candidates take on the topics that matter to you the most.”
After taking a swipe at AI-generated posts suggesting she was set to back Trump, she concluded with a subtle dig at the former President’s current running mate, JD Vance.
“With love and hope, Taylor Swift Childless Cat Lady,” she signed off in reference to Vance’s controversial comments.
Now, her partner and Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis is reportedly set to join her in backing Harris, according to the Daily Mail.”Travis will definitely be endorsing Kamala and will be doing it very soon – perhaps within the next day or so,” the outlet was told by a source.
“After Taylor revealed her endorsement for Kamala, Travis knew what he had to do. He understood the assignment.
“He was very proud of Taylor for finally speaking out and he supports her in everything she does, this will be no different.
“They share the same beliefs and ideals and goals, and this is one of them.”Together they both know that they can make a greater impact on fans and voters than either one of them alone.”
In her Instagram post, Taylor laid out that her decision to vote for Harris was based on her beliefs including LGBTQ+ rights and abortion.”‘I’m voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them,” she wrote.
“I think she is a steady-handed, gifted leader and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos.
“I was so heartened and impressed by her selection of running mate @timwalz, who has been standing up for LGBTQ+ privileges, IVF, and a woman’s right to her own body for decades.”
Should Travis also endorse Harris, it could create an awkward environment within the Chiefs locker room – specifically between him and quarterback and close friend Patrick Mahomes.
Patrick’s wife, and good friend of Taylor, Brittany, went public with her support for Trump on Instagram in August.
This included liking a comment from an Instagram user that read, “Trump-Vance 2024.”
In response to her support, Trump himself took to his own social media site, Truth Social, where he thanked Brittany for her support.
“I want to thank beautiful Brittany Mahomes for so strongly defending me,” he wrote, adding that she wanted “to save” the US “from doom.”
As for Patrick, he revealed on Wednesday that he doesn’t intend to disclose who he plans to vote for.
He told reporters that he doesn’t want to use his platform to endorse a candidate, but rather to remind the public to do their own research and register to vote.
What’s more, Patrick also explained that regardless of whatever differences there may be between his own political views and those of his friends, that won’t get in the way of his friendships.
“Whenever I’m hanging out with whoever, I’m not thinking about their political views or anything like that, I’m thinking about the people and how they treat other people,” he explained.
