Sources: Real Madrid superstar makes two promises to Florentino Perez

Last season was Kylian Mbappe’s first as a Real Madrid player and fans could not have expected much more of him.

He finished not only as the team’s top scorer but also the biggest scorer in La Liga and walked home with the Pichichi award, showcasing that he needed no adaptation period.

Concurrently, however, the season encompassed everything he did not join Real Madrid for. Los Blancos went without any major title, defeating the sole purpose for which he joined his dream club.

Ahead of the new season, the player is pumped to turn that around and Defensa Central brings to light two promises Mbappe made to the club president in view of the same.

A massive claim

As relayed by the outlet, the Frenchman met with Florentino Perez earlier this week and shared a word with him about his personal goal ahead of the new season.

In the process, he made the president two promises for the campaign that lay ahead.

For starters, he made a word that he will do everything in his capacity to cross the 50-goal mark for Real Madrid this season, and his target in itself speaks of the high standards he holds himself up against.

Last season, in comparison, he scored 44 goals and was not far off from his target.

The second promise Mbappe made to Perez was to bring home the UEFA Champions League, a competition in which Los Blancos underperformed last season.

As the new season nears its commencement, it would appear that Real Madrid have addressed the key areas where they lacked last season. With a new centre-back, world-class fullbacks and young blood in midfield in the form of Franco Mastantuono, they look stronger than before and will be genuine favourites on all fronts.
