Los Angeles – A wave of concern and prayer has swept through the NBA community and millions of fans around the world after heartbreaking news was confirmed: Shareef O’Neal, son of basketball legend Shaquille O’Neal, has been rushed to the hospital after a relapse of an old illness he battled years ago.

According to sources close to the family, Shareef was rushed to the hospital late at night after experiencing “difficulty breathing and severe chest pain.” The O’Neal family immediately gathered around him. One relative revealed: “Shaq dropped almost all of his schedules and rushed to the hospital as soon as he heard the news. He has never looked so desperate.”

The news spread at breakneck speed. NBA players, coaches, and fans around the world posted messages of prayer, using the hashtag #PrayForShareef to send their support. Even legends like LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Allen Iverson are said to have reached out to Shaq directly to check on his condition.

A close friend of Shareef said through tears: “He has overcome terrible things before. Everyone knew Shareef was strong, but no one expected the old disease to come back like this. The family is hoping for a miracle.”

Shaquille O’Neal, who is known for his strong and cheerful personality, this time made the whole world feel sorry for him when he shared a short but painful status on social media:

“I used to think I was a giant. But today, I am just a father praying that my son will live another day.”

The shared line broke millions of hearts. Sports networks dedicated special coverage to Shareef, while hundreds of fans gathered outside the hospital in Los Angeles, carrying flowers, candles, and signs reading “Stay Strong, Shareef.”

A former Shaq teammate said, “Shaquille can take down anyone on the court, but the pain of his father is unbeatable. The entire NBA is praying for him.”

While doctors are keeping details under wraps, inside sources say Shareef is “stable but under close observation.” The family has asked for respect and privacy, and thanked everyone for their love and concern.

The entire sports world now has only one wish:

“Stay strong, Shareef. Fight like your father did.”
