Pamela Bach, an American actor who appeared on several episodes of “Baywatch” and was married to its star David Hasselhoff for 16 years, died Wednesday at her residence in Los Angeles, Calif. The county medical examiner disclosed the cause of death was suicide by a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. Bach was 62.

A screen actor for more than five decades, Bach’s first credit came as a child actor in 1973, with a guest appearance on “The Young and the Restless.” Her most extensive tenure on a series was “Baywatch,” playing various roles across 14 episodes through the ’90s.

Bach’s time on “Baywatch” began shortly after she married series lead Hasselhoff; the pair had met during Bach’s guest appearance on “Nightrider” in the mid-’80s. The two were wed in 1989 and had two daughters, Taylor and Hayley. The couple divorced in 2006, with Bach accusing Hasselhoff of domestic abuse, an allegation that the actor denied at the time.“Our family is deeply saddened by the recent passing of Pamela Hasselhoff,” David Hasselhoff wrote in a statement on X. “We are grateful for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult period but kindly request privacy as we grieve and navigate through this challenging time.”

Other notable credits across Bach’s career include guest appearances on “Cheers,” “Baywatch Nights,” Castle Rock” and “The Fall Guy.”

Born in Tulsa, Okla. on Oct. 16, 1963, Bach modeled as a teenager before attending Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College. Later in her career, she competed on the U.K. reality series “Celebrity Big Brother.”

Bach is survived by her ex-husband, Hasselhoff, and their daughters.
