Nicole Kidman has spoken candidly about what it means for her to be “an older mother” and how important it is for her to be able to watch her children grow up.
In an interview with CBS Sunday Morning, the actress got visibly upset as she was asked what kind of impression she’d like to leave on the world.”I would just like to – it makes me sad – I would just like to be here long enough to have my children grow up and for me to see them thriving,” she admitted. “That’s all I ask.”
Also opening up about her relationship with country artist Keith Urban, Nicole added: “[I ask] that my husband and I are with each other. Simple, simple requests.”Speaking openly about the age at which she had her children, Kidman reaffirmed that she just “wanted to be here” as she was “an older mother”.
It was recently confirmed that Nicole would be appearing in BBC Two’s sequel to Top of the Lake, despite her previously denying the rumours.Last week we got an exclusive look at the actress’s turn in the series as Australian mother Julia, whose story is set to intersect with Elisabeth Moss’s Detective Robin Griffin.
Top of the Lake will return to BBC Two in 2017 in the UK and on SundanceTV and Hulu in the US.
