Mike Tyson Reveals Why He Slapped Jake Paul During Weigh-in
Mike Tyson revealed the surprising reason why he slapped Jake Paul during their Thursday weigh-in, a moment which has gone viral.
Paul and Tyson were attending a weigh-in at AT&T Stadium in Las Colinas, TX, ahead of their heavily publicized boxing match streaming to Netflix on Friday when Tyson suddenly slapped Paul seemingly out of nowhere. “He hits like a b—h. He must die,” Paul responded, but Tyson claimed not to hear the jab.
After the moment quickly spread across social media, Tyson told The New York Post why he felt compelled to slap Paul. “I was in my socks and he had on shoes,” explained. “He stepped on my toe because he is a f—ing a–hole. I wanted to think it happened by accident. But now I think it may have happened on purpose. I was in a lot of pain. I had to reciprocate.”
“Jake has been poking the bear the whole time,” one of the ex-heavyweight’s reps told the outlet. “Mike slapped the s–t out of him.”
“He’s more of a clown than an entertainer,” Tyson said of the former Youtuber. “He’s a clown. He needs to stop playing.”
Tyson and Paul’s fight begins streaming on Netflix at 5:30 p.m. EST on Nov. 15, with the main ticket beginning at 8 p.m. It marks Tyson’s first official fight in 19 years.
