The 25-year-old striker earned €72m gross a year at Paris Saint-Germain, and was due a €150m signing bonus when he signed his contract in 2022. He is also owed an €80m loyalty bonus this season.
In total, if he had lasted an extra year and given up none of the money he is said to have agreed to give up, Mbappe would have to be under €150 million for the final year of his deal.
At Real Madrid, he won’t earn nearly as much on an annual basis, but he will come in as Real Madrid’s highest-paid player. His annual salary will be around 30 million euros gross, about 3 million euros more than that of David Alaba.
According to the newspaper Sports world, there is some debate over the size of his signing fee, with some putting the figure at €100 million and others saying it could be as high as €150 million.
Either way, this means Mbappe will earn €50-60m a year in terms of wages from Los Blancos, but will also see an increase in his image rights income.
