A shocking incident has just been revealed when the late actress Kim Sae Ron’s aunt appeared on the YouTube channel Garosero Research Institute of former reporter Kim Se Ui (Kim Say), releasing a series of accusations aimed at actor Kim Soo Hyun.

The aunt confirmed that he was the “culprit” who pushed Kim Sae Ron into the tragic suicide, causing a stir in public opinion.

The love affair lasted for 6 years and ended in 2021.

In 2019, when Kim Soo Hyun established the management company GOLD MEDALIST, Kim Sae Ron gave up her contract with YG Entertainment to join him. 

The aunt said that because of her love for Kim Soo Hyun, she not only supported him in building the company but also worked for free – from training new talent to coaching acting.

Things took a dramatic turn in 2022, when Kim Sae Ron’s drunk driving accident was exposed.

The aunt said she initially wanted to handle it herself, but Kim Soo Hyun and GOLD MEDALIST convinced her to let them handle it.

The company then paid her 700 million won (about $483,000) in damages and did not ask her to repay it.

During a car conversation with her aunt, Kim Sae Ron expressed her gratitude to Kim Soo Hyun for helping her financially, even saying that she wanted to work hard to pay back the money.

However, after the contract with GOLD MEDALIST ended, a storm came. In 2024, Kim Sae Ron suddenly received a notice demanding a refund of 700 million won.

Confused, she tried to contact Kim Soo Hyun but received no response, even though she tried calling from her cousin’s number.

The aunt alleged that, shortly after, reporters suddenly contacted the family through her cousin’s phone number – which led Kim Sae Ron to believe that Kim Soo Hyun had intentionally “sold her out” to the press.

The feeling of betrayal seemed to push Kim Sae Ron into despair. The aunt said that, right when Kim Soo Hyun’s drama Queen of Tears aired, she posted a photo of them together on Instagram , hoping he would respond.

But the response was only an official announcement from Kim Soo Hyun and GOLD MEDALIST, allegedly “defaming” her, while all her attempts to contact her were ignored.

The aunt choked up and shared: “Unable to manage 700 million won, Kim Sae Ron fell into financial and mental crisis. She chose to commit suicide on Kim Soo Hyun’s birthday.”

The aunt asserted that the family holds a lot of evidence, including photos of the two’s six-year relationship, and will make it all public through the Garosero Research Institute to demand justice for her.

In the face of public opinion storm, Kim Soo Hyun and GOLD MEDALIST quickly denied all accusations, calling this a “blatant fabrication”.

The company announced that it will sue the Garosero Research Institute for defamation and disrespect for the deceased.

All allegations about his relationship with Kim Sae Ron since she was 15 years old, the company’s handling of the drunk driving accident, or his involvement with YouTuber Lee Jin Ho are completely false.

This is unacceptable defamation. We are considering the strongest legal action to deal with the spread of this false information.

GOLD MEDALIST is deeply saddened by the passing of Kim Sae Ron, who was once a member of the company.

But the Garosero Research Institute’s exploitation of this tragedy for personal gain is intolerable. We call for an end to the spread of false information.

In another development, Kim Sae Ron’s father turned his criticism on Lee Jin Ho – another controversial YouTuber – claiming that he also contributed to his daughter’s death.
