Popular South Korean actor Kim Soo Hyun has been caught in a major scandal over claims of dating late actress Kim Sae Ron, with her aunt now blaming the Queen of Tears star for her death. Kim Sae Ron’s aunt, in a shocking revelation on Kim Se Ui’s YouTube channel, Garosero Research Institute, made the allegations against Kim Soo Hyun, further holding him accountable for certain actions. She stated that the actors started dating in 2015 when Kim Sae Ron was 15, while Kim Soo Hyun was 27, and that they were together for six years until 2021.

During the phone conversation, she shared how Kim Soo Hyun started his own management company, GOLD MEDALIST, in 2019 when Kim Sae Ron also helped him by providing free labour such as by directing new talent and giving acting lessons. After the two broke up in 2022, the late actress got into a drunk driving case; however, she received support from Kim Soo Hyun and his company GOLD MEDALIST.

The company paid ₩700 million KRW (about $483,000 USD) as damages in the case and did not even ask Kim Sae Ron to pay them back, the aunt said, as per Koreaboo. While Kim Sae Ron remained very grateful to Kim Soo Hyun for helping her out, she still wanted to work hard to pay him back. However, things got worse after the actress’ contract with GOLD MEDALIST ended, and she eventually received a notice to pay back the ₩700 million KRW. Taken aback, Sae Ron tried contacting Kim Soo Hyun, but he avoided her calls. Her aunt also alleged that even the media got involved, which made the late actress feel ‘betrayed’.

Amid the heated situation, Kim Soo Hyun’s company issued an official statement that “painted Kim Sae Ron” in a negative way. “Not being able to pay back the ₩700 million KRW, Kim Sae Ron was struggling financially, which led her to commit suicide on Soo Hyun’s birthday,” the aunt added. She also added that the actress’ family has a lot of evidence of their six-year relationship.

Following the serious allegation, Kim Soo Hyun’s GOLD MEDALIST issued another statement, denying it all and noting that legal action would be taken against the defamation of both Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Sae Ron.
