The world of P Diddy and his grand music empire came crumbling down on September 16, 2024, when he was arrested on the charges of racketeering and s*x trafficking, among other things. Overnight, the balance of power shifted as an increasing number of celebrities began to step forward to share their experiences and encounters with the music mogul.

P Diddy Gets His Heart Broken by Kim Porter

Throughout the ’90s, Diddy and his trusted allies pulled their individual weight up through the cutthroat industry to become some of the top bosses standing in the music industry. Among them, Bad Boy Records LLP, owned by Sean “Diddy” Combs has been one of the most influential, while Diddy himself thrived on a reputation unparalleled by any.
But while business flourished, the Bad Boy CEO’s love life came to a standstill when he crossed paths with Kim Porter, his long-time girlfriend who stuck by his side on and off throughout the ’90s and early Aughts. However, despite their commitment to each other, Porter and Diddy’s love story, through all its ups and downs, could not stand the test of time in the end.
Kim Porter called it quits with the music mogul in 2007 after putting up with one too many mistakes on his end. After catching him cheating on her multiple times, Porter eventually had enough of him when he got a woman pregnant, giving birth to a girl in 2006 while Porter herself was pregnant with twins. The couple went their separate ways since their breakup in 2007.
The Turbulent Love Life of Diddy and Kim Porter
Despite Diddy’s mostly monogamous relationship with girlfriend Kim Porter, there came a time when being committed to one person was not enough. Diddy was consciously aware of his own inability to commit and this further led to the downfall of several of his relationships, including the one with Jennifer Lopez.
Speaking to The Breakfast Club about the same, Diddy once confessed:
If I’m in a relationship with you, like 25 percent of your time you’re gon’ feel like, ‘Oh man, I hate being here, oh man I hate this guy. Oh man, he cheated on me, he lied on me.’ That’s 25 percent, know what I’m saying?
But while he confessed his inability to stay faithful to one woman, Diddy also strived to promise Porter one essential thing:
Then there’s 75 percent of ‘I’m gonna make you the happiest woman in the whole wide world.’ I’m going to be there to support your dreams, I’m going to be there to hold you, listen to you. I’m going to be there to be your best friend and I promise you’ll smile the most. You know who I am, this is what it is. 25 percent, 75 percent, which deal would you choose?
Eventually, Diddy turned to religion to legitimize his affairs with other women, claiming it had to do with God’s will. In a joint interview with Essence, Diddy asked Porter — “Do you really think that God meant for a man to have just one wife? Or a woman to have one husband? Do you think God meant it that way?”
Porter could not have had a better comeback than when she said, “Do you really want me having s*x with some other man? You want that to happen?” Eventually, Diddy’s 25 percent overshadowed his 75, and Porter found herself falling out of love with the rapper after Diddy’s 2006 transgression by getting another woman pregnant.
Kim Porter passed away in November 2018 from lobar pneumonia.
