Kevin Durant’s Funny Reaction When He Discovered An LA Rams Player Had The Same Name As Him In An X Post 👇

Kevin Durant may have learned of a relative in the most modern of ways, as a joke from a fan on Twitter apparently alerted the All-Star forward to a cousin with a similar job.

Twitter user @ElDunerino tagged Durant in a tweet on Saturday, including a picture of LA Rams rookie Cobie Durant, and repeating the oft-told narrative that KD benefitted from joining an already-great team when he went to the Warriors in 2016.

‘Repeating history going to the defending champs in that blue and yellow,’ they joked, comparing the Rams’ colors (and success) to the Warriors.

Kevin Durant was seemingly left perplexed at his Rams namesake – and possible relative

While Durant ignored the quip about his career choices, his focus was seemingly drawn to another part of the tweet.

‘Somehow this is my cousin,’ he said. ‘Ima rams fan now [sic].’

It’s not clear if the two are actually cousins – or if Washington DC native (and noted Commanders fan) KD is actually switching his allegiances – but the less-famous Durant saw his namesake’s tweet and responded with a nod to KD’s ‘sniper’ nickname and his apparent own.

He then introduced himself to his newfound relative.

‘What’s good cuz,’ he said with a laughing-crying emoji and a handshake emoji.

Cobie Durant then introduced himself to his newfound relative, by saying ‘what’s good cuz’

Durant teamed up with Kyrie Irving in Brooklyn in 2019 after joining the Warriors in 2016

The younger Durant played football at South Carolina State, and is from Lamar, South Carolina.

His NFL.com prospect profile projects him to be an ‘average backup or special teamer’, though he ran an impressive 4.38 40-yard dash at the NFL combine.

He was selected by the Rams in the fourth round with the 142nd pick of the draft.

His potential relative may soon be switching teams again, as KD reportedly requested a trade away from the Nets in July.

If the Nets do in fact trade Durant, he reportedly views the Celtics and Sixers as desirable destinations.
