Travis Kelce, Taylor Swift’s boyfriend, has come to her defense after Elon Musk made controversial comments about giving the pop star a child. Kelce, a tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, clapped back at Musk on social media, saying, ‘Keep off my girl! Having a lot of money doesn’t guarantee you’ll have sense, and you just proved me right.’
Musk had sparked outrage with his comments, which many deemed disrespectful and inappropriate. Swift fans and friends quickly rallied around her, defending her against Musk’s remarks.
Kelce’s response has been praised by fans and friends, who are applauding him for standing up for Swift. ‘Travis is a true gentleman,’ wrote one fan. ‘He’s got Taylor’s back, and we love him for it!’
The drama has sparked a heated debate about wealth, power, and respect. ‘Just because you have money doesn’t mean you can say whatever you want,’ wrote another fan. ‘Travis Kelce just proved that having class and respect is worth more than any amount of money.’”
Travis Kelce just went viral on social media for something he didn’t actually post.
Following Taylor Swift’s endorsement for Vice President Kamala Harris this week, billionaire and X owner Elon Musk, who is championing former President Donald Trump in the race for the White House, reacted to the news on his platform.
“Fine Taylor … you win … I will give you a child and guard your cats with my life,” Musk posted in an apparent jab at Swift, who signed off her endorsement with “childless cat lady.”
A screenshot of Kelce, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end and Swift’s boyfriend, responding to Musk has since made the rounds on social media.
“I’m 6’5″ and actually play football,” the screenshot shows Kelce allegedly saying. “The fact I went to college and got a degree and worked hard might be lost on you. I don’t play backgammon but I do play chess. I could also twist you into a pretzel.”
The former University of Cincinnati football star, though, did not post this, as it is not in the replies on his profile. The quote is a running joke on social media stemming from trash talk between a Baltimore Orioles fan and a person at TalkNats.com, a baseball blog dedicated to the Washington Nationals.
Shortly after the presidential debate ended Tuesday night, Swift announced she would support Harris and Tim Walz in the upcoming election. Sharing a photo of herself with her cat, Benjamin Button, Swift said Trump’s use of AI-generated images depicting her endorsing him made her realize she needed to be clear and transparent about her actual plans for the election.
The photo with her cat is a dig at Republican vice presidential candidate JD Vance and his 2021 comments in which he said Democrats push an “antifamily” agenda that is led by “a bunch of childless cat ladies.”
“Like many of you, I watched the debate tonight. If you haven’t already, now is a great time to do your research on the issues at hand and the stances these candidates take on the topics that matter to you the most,” Swift wrote. “As a voter, I make sure to watch and read everything I can about their proposed policies and plans for this country.”
