The influencer’s toddler son, Trigg, was found unconscious on Monday, May 12. He died on Sunday, May 18, local police confirm to PEOPLE

Influencer Emilie Kiser‘s 3-year-old son, Trigg, has died, police have confirmed to PEOPLE. News of his tragic death comes days after he was involved in a pool accident last week.

In a statement issued on behalf of the Chandler Police Department, spokesperson Sonu Wasu tells PEOPLE that Trigg was hospitalized after authorities responded to a drowning call on May 12. The toddler died on May 18, per Wasu’s confirmation.“Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with the child’s family and loved ones during this unimaginable time,” reads the statement issued on behalf of the local police.

“The investigation into the circumstances surrounding this incident remain ongoing. This is still an open investigation,” Wasu’s statement continues. “Out of respect for the family’s privacy, we will not be releasing additional details until the investigation is closed.”According to AZ Central, Wasu noted that Trigg was taken to Chandler Regional Medical Center and then to Phoenix Children’s Hospital in critical condition. His death on Sunday, May 18, was confirmed by police and the Maricopa County Office of the Medical Examiner, in documents seen by PEOPLE.Emilie and her husband, Brady, became parents in July 2021 when they welcomed their son Trigg; their second child, son Theodore, was born in March.”🧸Theodore🧸 We love you so much and our hearts feel like they are going to burst. The couple announced in September that they were expecting their second child together. She shared the pregnancy news on her Instagram with a series of images beside Brady and Trigg with a few sonogram photos.

“WE GOTTA BABY GROWING🕊️🤍,” Emilie penned in her caption.

Kiser has over 3.1 million followers on TikTok and another million on Instagram, where she shares the day-to-day experiences of being a wife and mom.

PEOPLE has reached out to the Chandler Fire Department for comment but did not immediately hear back.
