Jamie Foxx Is Suffering Medical Complications After A Piece Of Glass Was Thrown Into His Mouth At A Birthday Party In Beverly Hills, Leaving Him… See More

Jamie Foxx is recovering after he was attacked while out celebrating his birthday.

Foxx was celebrating his 57th birthday with family, including his daughters Annalise and Corinne, as well as his former partner, Kristin Grannis.

The incident occurred on Friday, December 13, at Mr. Chow, a high-end restaurant in Beverly Hills.

Witnesses reported that tensions arose when patrons at a nearby table began behaving disruptively.

A source told TMZ: “He asked them to stop since his family was present,” but the request allegedly escalated the situation. According to the witness, someone from the disruptive table then threw a glass, striking Foxx in the face.

A spokesperson for the actor later confirmed the incident.

“Jamie Foxx was at his birthday dinner when someone from another table threw a glass that hit him in the mouth. He had to get stitches and is recovering. The police were called and the matter is now in law enforcement’s hands,” the statement read.

The birthday celebration came just days after Foxx released his new Netflix stand-up comedy special, marking his return to the stage after an 18-year hiatus.

The incident didn’t overshadow the emotional weight of his recent work, where he opened up about his health challenges in 2023.

The 56-year-old was hospitalized on April 11, 2023, in Atlanta after suffering a medical emergency while filming the Netflix movie Back in Action.

Foxx’s daughter, Corinne, was the first to share news of the actor’s hospitalization, posting an update on Instagram shortly after the incident.

“We wanted to share that my father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday,” she wrote in an Instagram Story.

“Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery. We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers. The family asks for privacy during this time.”

Weeks later, Foxx addressed his fans for the first time in a brief Instagram post on May 3, writing: “Appreciate all the love!!! Feeling blessed.”

Foxx has now opened up more candidly about the ordeal in his new Netflix comedy special, What Had Happened Was…, offering shocking revelations about the incident, per the New York Post.

“I was having a bad headache, and I asked my boy for an Aspirin,” Foxx recounted. “I realized quickly that when you’re in a medical emergency, your boys don’t know what the f*** to do. Before I could get the Aspirin [clicks his fingers], I went out. I don’t remember 20 days.”

Foxx revealed he had suffered a brain bleed that led to a stroke. Initially, friends rushed him to a local doctor in Atlanta, where he was given a cortisone shot and sent home.

“What the f*** is that?” Foxx joked. “I don’t know if you can do Yelps for doctors, but that’s half a star.”

Concerned for his worsening condition, Foxx’s sister, Deidra Dixon, took him to Piedmont Hospital, where doctors uncovered the severity of his condition.

“A doctor told my sister the horrible news: I was ‘having a brain bleed that has led to a stroke’ and would die if I didn’t immediately go into surgery,” Foxx revealed.

Foxx described the surreal experience: “I saw the tunnel. I didn’t see the light. It was hot in that tunnel. S***, am I going to the wrong place in this motherf***er? Because I looked at the end of the tunnel, and I thought I saw the Devil like, ‘C’mon.’ Or is that Puffy [Sean Combs]?”

Following emergency surgery, Foxx’s doctors warned that while he might make a full recovery, “it’s going to be the worst year of his life.”

“That’s what it was,” Foxx confirmed.

He recalled waking up on May 4, 2023, confused and disoriented, finding himself in a wheelchair. The actor admitted that the recovery process was both physically and emotionally challenging.

“I couldn’t wipe my own a**,” he shared.

Luckily, despite this latest incident, Foxx is on the mend.
