Undisputed cruiserweight champion Artur Beterbiev has set his sights on a clash with social media star turned boxer Jake Paul.

On Friday night Paul earned the most notable victory of his burgeoning career to date as he comfortably defeated Mike Tyson at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

Broadcast worldwide on Netflix in a first for the streaming platform, Paul easily defeated the former heavyweight king, consistently keeping out of range and offering little opportunity for Tyson to mount any real offence.

Against an opponent 31 years his junior, Tyson managed to land just 18 punches throughout the eight-round clash resulting in defeat in his first professional fight since 2005.

With the controversial spectacle over, the question as to who Paul will face next in his burgeoning career inside the ring has once again come to the forefront.

Ever since making his professional debut in 2020, Paul has retained ambitions on eventually fighting for a world title, and it appears he may get his wish in the most unlikely of circumstances.

Artur Beterbiev has indicated he would defend his cruiserweight titles against Jake Paul

Paul defeated Mike Tyson on Friday night to improve his professional record to 11-1

Writing on social media following Friday’s fight, the undefeated Beterbiev indicated he would be willing to put his belts on the line against the Problem Child.

He wrote: ‘@jakepaul what can you do in the ring against the current undisputed champion?

‘Just know that I’m always open to any suggestions.’

Though his clash with Tyson was contested at heavyweight, Paul has spent much of his career at cruiserweight, including his 2022 defeat to Tommy Fury, to date the only blemish on his professional record.

Beterbiev meanwhile has earned a reputation as one of the most fearsome punchers in the sport across his 21 bouts.

A majority decision win over Dmitry Bivol last month marked the first time the Russian-Canadian has failed to stop his opponent inside the distance.
