Emergency services were called to the Rooney family’s £20 million mansion in Cheshire last night after Kai Rooney, 14, the eldest son of football icon Wayne and Coleen Rooney, was reportedly found in a critical condition inside his bedroom.
Sources close to the family described the scene as “chaotic and heartbreaking”. Ambulance crews arrived at around 11:40pm following a distress call from a family member. Within minutes, the Rooney family home – known as a fortress of privacy – became a scene of flashing blue lights, ambulances and shocked onlookers.
“Coleen was inconsolable,” said a neighbour who witnessed the emergency. “Wayne looked pale, absolutely devastated. Whatever happened, it’s something no parent should have to deal with.”
